Manchester Born & Bred, Ian started his musical adventure later than most, He started playing guitar at the age of 16 (same age as his hero John Lennon!). When he was 20 he joined his first band "Kashmire" with fellow Snakewater guitarist, Bobby. They we're a blues influenced Indie Rock band. Originally the Rhythm guitarist in the band, Ian later led on to front the band on Vocals. Enjoyed playing at venues across Manchester such as the Night & Day, Dry Bar & Palace Nightclub. Ian then formed the "Free Ride Society" in 2005, who were an indie/punk/rock and roll band. Now Present day, Once again Ian has teamed up with Bobby to start a new adventure, both musically & instrumental. A new direction for Ian, picking up the bass for the first time, and crafting his trade very quickly.

Ian has a very stereo-typical "Manc" taste, when it comes to his influences in his music & songwriting. Growing up listening to the likes of The Beatles, Oasis, The Jam, Stone Roses, The Move, Happy Mondays...to modern bands like Artic Monkeys, The Enemy, Kasabian etc

Since joining Snakewater, Ians progession in his ability and broadness of music has evolved... with the likes of Muddy Water & John Lee Hooker.
